Your Top 10 Responsibilities When Renting a Storage Unit

When you rent a self-storage unit with Choice Storage, you’re not just gaining extra space — you’re entering a rental agreement with important responsibilities. Here are the top 10 things every tenant should know:

1. Review and Follow Your Rental Agreement
Understand and comply with all the terms outlined in your contract. Our team reviews these details with you when you sign up.

2. Pay on Time
Make sure your monthly payments are made promptly to avoid late fees or access issues.

3. Keep Your Information Updated
Let us know right away if your contact or payment information changes.

4. Insure Your Stored Items
Choice Storage doesn’t insure your belongings. Contact your insurance provider for coverage options.

5. Report Lost Access Cards or Keys
If you misplace your access card or key, notify us immediately so we can protect your unit’s security.

6. Monitor Access to Your Unit
You’re responsible for anyone using your access card. If you authorize someone else, please inform our office.

7. Maintain a Clean Space
Keep your unit tidy and ensure the area around it stays clean.

8. Respect Others
Be courteous to fellow tenants and Choice Storage staff.

9. Follow Storage Rules
Don’t store prohibited items like perishables, flammables, or illegal goods.

10. Give Proper Notice Before Moving Out
Provide at least two weeks’ notice before vacating. Remember, final month’s rent must be paid in full.
